On the overnight flight MM018 (departed Heathrow 21:50, Thu 9 Oct), Mr Thorne was found unresponsive in his reclined business-class suite during the 05:10 pre-descent welfare check and could not be revived. He had a documented severe tree-nut allergy; an emptied adrenaline auto-injector was found in his suite and the initial impression was a fatal accidental allergic reaction. The aircraft was met at Singapore; the body was repatriated and a UK post-mortem flagged the death as suspicious. The cabin carried no cameras — but the aircraft's systems logged almost everything else.
